northbrook exhibit.

for my final major exhibition i worked alongside my good friend JAYNE SARGE. we worked separately but were able to combine our work to create our final display. the themes interlinked well; Fairy Tales and Dreams.
my work mainly consisted of framed hand and machine stitched illustrations. but also knitted trees and creatures, crochet flowers, wire and button hearts, felt flowers, bunting. and the humpty dumpty eggs.
jayne created a mixed media bed cover which incorporated stitched imagery with photography and found images. and also a printed pillow case displaying a poem;

FMP prep

i have been busy preparing my pieces for my final project.
i aim to create a number of machine and hand stitched illustrative images influenced by the theme of dream & fantasy; fairy tales and nursery rhymes. The two main pieces are inspired by a LadyBird book of hansel and gretel, but the main inspiration is the setting and creatures of a fairy tale story; normally woodland and forests.

 one of the main pieces will be machine stitched and the other by hand.

weaving.

during this week, we have been taught to weave on hand made looms as part of the sustainability project.
i made a giant loom at home to create a big weave made of material scraps.

i used a selection of different vintage blue fabrics from my amaaaazing material box which i found at a carboot in devon for £10.
