flea market.

every saturday there's a flea market upstairs at looses down magdalen street. and it's the best place everr to spend your saturday mornings. there's so many goodies and treasures; jewellery, clothes, antiques, fabric, haberdashery, collectables, lots of vintage bits and pieces. so far i have managed to buy a coat, 2 bags, an owl clip thing, some vintage fabric, plates and bowls. :]
the haberdashery section;
 a selection of jewellery on show;

i also visited oxfam which is just over the road and found these old broaches in a glass cabinet;

looses.

looses is a HUGE vintage and antique shop near my house in norwich. i got there regularly to have a rummage but today i went to find inspiration for this project. as my theme is vintage, it seemed like a good place to start to look for broaches and objects that fit into my colour scheme.

 here are a range of objects i found that fit within my colour scheme;

and here are some broaches i will use for drawing inspiration;

st lawrence textile centre.

by exploring norwich, i came across this amazing church down st benedicts street that houses a variety of vintage and craft stools.

specialising in all things handmade; knitted scarfs, hats, gloves, dresses, jumpers, jewellary and accessories. each stool is owned by a different artist/designer, displaying a business card or using the space as an active studio. they also had a corner selling vintage clothing and objects. and the steps of coloured yarns!

i enquired about having a space to sell my earrings, and got offered a table! but i don't think it's very efficient to be doing anything like that just yet... maybe in the future :)

more earrings.

 a variety of clay, bows, glass and tibetan silver charm earrings.

i make too many earrings.

these are the very first earrings i ever made.
and it's all gone a bit mad since then...
they're all made from a variety of materials; tibetan silver, vintage buttons, clay, bows, plastic kitch charms and other random bits and pieces.
 kitsch charm necklace.

i make the earring holders out of old picture frame and a punctured plastic sheet stapled on the back. i then attach a ribbon so i can hang it up on the wall :)

most of them are displayed on old playing cards and either pegged onto ribbon lines or on old lampshades.
