for the last four days i have been working at the first ever vintage at goodwood festival;
'Vintage at Goodwood is the annual music and fashion led celebration of creative British cool from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s, featuring the leading DJs, bands, collectors, purveyors of vintage clothing and vintage vinyl from each decade, as well as contemporary bands and brands inspired by Britain’s rich creative and cultural heritage.'
i worked as a backstage runner on the main stage. so i was basically a slave for the celebrities; ronnie wood and the faces, sandy shaw, the buzzcocks, peter hook and loads more other legends that i didn't recognise or wasn't allowed to speak to 'unless spoken to'. i had to supply their dressing rooms with food, alcohol and goodies and then clean it after... which wasn't pleasant. but i'm not complaining, when i wasn't on my shift, i was free to roam to festival - sometimes before anybody had even arrived! rummage through the vintage stalls, drink tea, skate at the roller disco, go to the fair, and visit the other stages around the festival. my favourite was the 'let it rock' stage where i could watch people swing dance forever.
i also helped with a few of the knitting stands. here, they were encouraging people to knit by using giant needles.
wowww. the best festival in the worrrld!
