heatherette and outcome ideas.

by having vintage as my theme i have been looking at old photos, objects but specifically jewellery.

i created a sample the other day, a simple hand weave, but pinned in one of my cameos.

i thought about the effect of making my own broaches and incorporating them into the weave or textile itself.

also, i have been looking at dress coursages on the runway;

heatherette 2008.

heatherette is a fashion label formed by the design due traver rains and richie rich. their fashion is extremely creative and their choice of media is mad. they add big, decorative elements to their dresses (like a coursage but better.) i know heatherette are a bit too mad for my colour palatte and theme, but the idea of making decorative coursages to be pinned onto dresses is really interesting and i can't wait to start experimenting.

a way i could approach this is to hand weave a coursage, and detail it with stitch and jewels and other vintage objects. i think this could be FUN. :)
